Welcome to Adobe GoLive 6

"I must be a happy customer as I have brought Quintech into the cruise industry several years ago -- and your RF matrices and other RF products are now standard throughout fleets from Royal Caribbean Cruise Line to Celebrity Cruises. The Royal Caribbean Cruise Line's fleet of 16 ships. All use only Quintech RF Matrix systems or Quintech RF Splitters for their satellite systems. Celebrity Cruise Line's fleet of 9 ships also uses only Quintech RF splitters or Quintech RF Matrix systems for their satellite systems."

The TXS/RXS 2150 8:1 Fiber Link Redundancy System provides the routing mechanism for substituting a backup fiber link for any one of eight main fiber links.

The TXS 2150 Transmit Router provides eight 2-way splitters and a single 8x1 router in a common 3 RU enclosure. One output of each 2-way splitter is accessible through a rear panel mounted “F” type connector to feed fiber optic transmitters. The other output of each 2-way splitter is connected to the an input of the 8x1 router. The router output feeds a backup fiber optic transmitter.

The RXS 2150 Receiver Router provides eight RF Sensing Switches and a single 1x8 zero loss switch in a single 3RU enclosure. Each of the RF Sensing Switches utilizes a DPDT relay to switch either the primary or the secondary signal input to the output. The signal is coupled from the primary input, filtered, amplified, and detected to operate the relay. When the input level is above a preset threshold, which is adjustable via the front panel, the relay coil is de-energized and the primary signal path is selected. If the signal falls below the preset threshold, the relay coil is energized and the secondary signal path is selected. Under a no power condition, the unit will default to the primary position.

The outputs of the optical receivers in the primary fiber links are connected to the primary inputs of the sensing switches via rear panel mounted “F” connectors. The outputs of the sensing switches are accessed via rear panel mounted “F” connectors. The output of the optical receiver from the standby optical link is connected to the input of the 1x8 switch via a rear panel mounted “F” connector labeled RX Backup. The outputs of the 8x1 switch are connected to the secondary inputs of the sensing switches.

In the event the primary optical link fails, the RXS 2150 will automatically switch the backup optical link to replace the failed primary optical link. The RXS 2150 will send a control signal to the TXS 2150 via RS-422 and route the input of the failed primary optical link to the standby optical link.

Note: Fiber optic transmitters and receivers are supplied by the customer. All unused RF output ports must have 75 ohm terminations.

Features & Benefits

  • The TXS/RXS 2150 System provides fiber optic redundancy on an 8 to 1 scale - Redundancy for 1/8th the cost.
  • RF Detection Level is adjustable from -50 to -20 dBm via front panel keypad & LCD
  • Primary paths are prioritized. In the event of a multiple link failure, the most critical path is maintained.
  • If multiple paths fail, the path with the highest priority will be assigned the backup path. Ports are prioritized numerically from 1 through 8, i.e., if ports 2 and 3 were lost simulatneously, port 2 would switch to the backup link, etc. All other paths that are in backup mode are referred to as failed and are viewable as such via the front panel LCD display.
  • SNMP traps provide alarm status when system is in backup mode.
  • Input/Output Naming: 7-character alpha-numeric naming of inputs and outputs for easy reference.
  • Rear panel mounted RJ45 connector provides an Ethernet port for the M&C monitoring of the switch position.
  • Dual AC inputs and dual internal power supplies are included for power redundancy.
